Sudan's Bishops Promote Peace
A joint meeting of Sudanese bishops from the Catholic and Anglican churches has warned that the Sudan peace process mediated through the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) must not be allowed to collapse. The IGAD peace process, under the leadership of Kenya, provided "the only viable peace process" and it was essential to maintain the integrity of the Machakos Protocol, negotiated a year ago to provide a framework for peace in Sudan.
